"What began in deception would end with the Truth, shining like a blade in the hand of the last usurper."

Super and I are twins, so I was present for nearly all the writing, and brainstorming, and head-in-hands hair-pulling that went into this fanfiction.
It was a long road, and I wondered if there was a way to capture and crystallize all that into one drawing. Impossible, obviously.
The story centers on Noctis' quest for the Sword of Light, and he is here at the center of it, Sword-not-quite-in-hand as all the designs of destiny's tapestry are laid out at the climax.
Clothing is only sometimes described and not in much detail, so I had free reign to decide on his outfit beyond what was established by the setting and time period.
I used the man all the way to the left in this print as my reference (because I thought having one sleeve of the ionar untied looked cool) and changed the embrodiery to something more Noctis-y.
Rings are a key symbol and tool alongside the circular nature of fate, so I knew I wanted to include lots of circles.
Water is a reocurring motif throughout, and since the climax involves water and portals, I wanted those "ripples" to feel like other places and times without being too distracting.
Lastly, the starscape includes my usual signature, the constellation of Orion, alongside some constellations Super had designed for another FFXV fan project.
The reflection of the crescent moon can also be seen indistinctly at the very top of the drawing.
