About the project

Hello, people online call me Orion! Welcome to my website and to the "Many Worlds - One Sky" Project information page. I've put together this project to rally artists in the Kingdom Hearts fandom towards charitable causes. We want to encourage those that might not otherwise donate to do so by offering rewards from a wide group of volunteer creators.

How it works:

Why aren't you selling any physical merchandise products?

Two big reasons: First, the main priority is to direct monetary support to people, and the less hands a donation passes through, the more of that donation reaches the people you're supporting. Fundraising sites and payment processors already take a cut of each donation, more would be cut out through card payments, manufacturing costs, taxes and tariffs, etc. so we've taken ourselves out of the equation and are simply offering rewards. The second reason is that it's incredibly difficult to run an online shop at the moment. If I, Orion, was already working in merchandise production, I would leverage the logistics I already had in place to make physical merchandise available for this project, but that's not the case, so we're focusing on digital rewards for the time being.

Have you considered running raffles? You could offer physical merchandise that way!

Very early on we talked about making special limited rewards for raffles, but it turns out that raffles where entrants pay to enter are generally illegal in the U.S. except under very specific circumstance, even if the people running the raffle never handle the donation money directly. Officially registered charity organizations can run raffles, but that's not what we are.

Are my donations tax deductible?

More than likely, no. Many of the groups we're spotlighting are not officially registered as charities in a way that can be marked down as a charitable donation in most countries. This isn't a knock on their legitimacy, just that the process and regulations around being an approved charity are highly restrictive and variable, especially when working internationally.
